The Incubators of Silly is a social experiment born from a explorative chance methodology in Detroit. My classmate, Angie Foster, and I explored the city using random techniques, like the situationists' dérive. After spending time with the city we came to the conclusion: the city could use some more silliness.

So we devised a set of short silly experiments that could introduce the concept of silly in a non-intrusive way. We challenged pedestrians in Detroit to engage with us in moments of silliness, and documented all the interactions and results, making the findings available on our website.
